Critical Thinking

These days I really feel sorry about what is happening in Egypt. The issue I really concern about is how you could wash brains for those people who are not educated well. The problem we are facing today is, because of our education quality, that people are easily affected with thoughts of others. This raise an important issue which is how can we affect positively those minds and how we can help them to create a powerful pattern in thinking and especially in forming opinions. We should help them to decide what they can believe and do based on the right thoughts and true facts even if they are going to generate different opinions. When I started to read about critical thinking, I found it’s a big responsibility as leaders and educators to direct those minds to the right direction. This will help not to allow people, who have hidden and bad goals, to control and direct those simple minds and direct their agenda. So, I think that we need as teachers, educators, or trainers to learn about this art of thinking to lead the community to what it’s helpful for their citizens.

  2. There are many different types of thinking: critical thinking, lateral thinking and a host of other forms. As a teacher it is important that we develop all kinds of thinking skills. We can probably doing a thinking exercise called "Six Hat Thinking" in class one day and use it to evaluate our opinions about the use of technology in the classroom. I think I would plan to use it in our very last session. Thanks for the idea, Bassant!

  3. What about other teachers who brainwash their students' minds for their agenda .I totally agree with your opinion . Revolution gives everyone a chance to appear ,to show,to talk on TV or write in newspapers or twitter etc... The ordinary citizens believe anything they watch on TV and it is not only Egyptian problem .The West or the Americans themselves have the same problem .They believe anything that their media says.So it is a global issue .

  5. I agree with you Bassant, but how you can wash their mind from false thoughts and opinions? Are you going to bring them up in a different way. These characters are brought up an a way that makes them influence and affect others and become leaders sometimes even if they are wrong because they have the power and the language by which they can affect people. They are the outcome of false upbringing.
